Happy Happy Thanksgiving

From our little turkey and us. We spent the day at The Count’s mom’s house where we had the BEST turkey ever, as well as my little bro, Jack. It was a terrific day.

Thanksgiving Printable

I saw this Thanksgiving poster on Pinterest, but sadly every pin for it that I found for it was dead and did not bring me to any site to download or purchase. I really wanted this in a printable form so that I could frame it and replace some of our personal photos for an open house we were having one weekend. So, I made it myself. And you can download it, too!

Our First Thanksgiving

Moving on… Dan and I just recently hosted our first Thanksgiving ever in our own place!  Definitely a memorable occasion for us.  We had 23 people in our tiny little house, and boy was it cozy!  But, we had the best time ever and it was the first Thanksgiving with our large extended family, in a long time.  Dan and I are so lucky that our families get along so well and we are able to have one big Thanksgiving instead of splitting our time between his family and mine.  That’s not to say that we can’t still do that in the future, but it’s nice that we don’t have to.  Dan’s turkey was a big success and he has been nominated to cook the turkey from here on out.  We also had a LOT of help from my parents and my Aunt Andi who came over the night before and helped us tidy up the house and prepare some of the food.  It was a really nice day.  This Thanksgiving will definitely go down as one of my favorites.  Thanks to everybody who helped it go as smoothly as possible.  You know who you are.  ;)

Thanksgiving 2009

Dan and I feel so lucky that both of our families like one another and get along so well that we’ve made it a tradition to spend Thanksgiving together every year!  We switch off who’s house it is at each year.  The year before last was up in Prescott at my Grandpa’s house and this past year was at my parents’ house.  We’re hoping this year we can have it at OUR house.  :)

My mom set up the table soooo nicely:
